Over the coming weeks, we’re delighted to present the backstory for a series of award winning images from 2019 13th Annual Pollux Awards.

Hanauma Bay is a marine sanctuary and one of the most popular tourist destinations on O’ahu in the Hawaiian islands.  Our visit was an opportunity to snorkel and enjoy the beach but one couldn’t resist the sheer variety of other tourists and their methods of experiencing this pristine location.

I found the irony of nature education and wildlife contrasted to the absurd machinations of blow-up floaties, lilly-white tourists and muscle men extremely entertaining to watch and couldn’t resist capturing them as a true reflection of people.

By all means, contact us for tips and details if you’re planning a trip to the region.   We’re always happy to share our travel knowledge.   www.facebook.com/SueHendersonPhotography/
